Izabella Kay , Poland & UK

Polish born, London based artist, Izabella Kay, understands how integral art has become for all aspects of popular culture. Known for her gigantic oil painting installations and collected internationally, Kay has always been fascinated by style, fashion, art and their interaction. Her solo shows have been sold out since 2004, her work is shown annually at 20/21 International Art Fair at The Royal College of Art and since 2007 she part of the permanent collection at The Polish Cultural Institute, London, and in 2009 participated in “Creatives – Polish Roots” at The London Museum. Her unique take on colour and space, constant fascination with texture as well as changing perception led her to launch a limited edition of digital works – IKADS (Izabella Kay Art Diffusion) and their dream-like translation on to fabric. From this the Foulart (art scarf) and the Artan (art kaftan) were born – her first fashion collection. Imaginary, timeless, one hundred per cent silk pieces of art which transcend style, fashion and illuminate with colour, designed and produced with love in the United Kingdom in one of the oldest silk centres in the world. Every scarf is titled, numbered and part of a limited edition of 20 only. Each piece is based on a separate painting and is presented in a luxurious box with a signed certificate. The debut collection includes titles like Reflection, Deep Blue Sea, Thinking of You, Enrapture, Passion, Snow and Ocean. The Foularts (200 m x 70cm) can be worn in a multitude of ways (see How to wear Foulart on YouTube channel Vernissage Projects).
